BEIJING - An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter Scale hit Wuqia county, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region at 9:56 am Saturday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.

The epicenter was monitored at 39.4 degrees north latitude and 75.2 degrees east longitude with a depth of about 10 kilometers, the center said.

No reports of casualties were available by press time.
