Amanda Holden pregnant with second child
Amanda Holden is expecting her second child.

The 'Britain's Got Talent' judge – who has a five-year-old daughter, Lexi, with music producer husband Chris Hughes - is three months pregnant with a baby girl, and admits she is "thrilled and terrified" at the same time.

She wrote on her twitter page: "Lexi's question of the day(and most days) "Mama when are you going to get a baby in your tummy?"Happy to say TODAY Lexi!Mama is pregnant!Yay.

"Am thrilled and terrifed all rolled into one! (sic)"

Amanda and Chris' baby joy comes six months after the 40-year-old star suffered the tragic stillbirth of her baby son when she was just two months away from reaching full term.

She added in a statement on her official website: "Chris, Lexi and I are delighted to announce that I am pregnant and we are expecting a little girl.

"The first half of this year has been unbelievably difficult for us and so we are beyond delighted to share this news with you."

Amanda recently spoke out about her desire to have children following the "blackest period" of her life.

She said: "I'm a naturally really optimistic girl and we're not dramatic people. Although what's happened is obviously horrifying, we can go on and have more children.

"Our future's bright and you have to turn negatives into positives, and try and see everything as a blessing. That's exactly what we've done."

"It was without doubt the blackest period of my life. You never think that it might happen to you. I was an absolute mess. Poor Chris was too but he was amazing."

Meanwhile, Girls Aloud beauty Kimberley Walsh will take over in the role of Princess Fiona in 'Shrek The Musical' from October 5, with Amanda "not taking any risks" over the health of her baby.

She added in the statement: "I will endeavour to continue the show until the October 3. I do however ask you to bear with me as I will be putting myself and this pregnancy first.

"I have taken medical advice and although I am a strong girl and this is 'once again' a good healthy pregnancy I will absolutely not be taking any risks."
