Charlie Sheen's sons monitored

Charlie Sheen was allegedly visited by child protection services on Sunday (21.02.10).

The Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) reportedly dropped by the family home the actor shares with his wife Brooke Mueller to check up on their 11-month-old twin sons Bob and Max following Charlie's arrest on Christmas Day (25.12.09).

Gossip website TMZ reported: "Our sources tell us the visit was triggered by Pitkin County Department of Social Services - which has an active investigation following the Christmas Day incident between Charlie and Brooke."

The 44-year-old actor was arrested during the festive period over domestic violence allegations, and was charged with a felony and two misdemeanours. He is expected to plead not guilty when he returns to a Colorado court next month.

The authorities apparently dropped by as a "routine" visit to monitor the boys' wellbeing as part of an ongoing investigation by the Pitkin County Department of Social Services - who urged the Los Angeles department to pay the family a visit.

The 'Two and a Half Men' actor's spokesperson confirmed: "It was a routine procedural investigation."

The website added: "We're told Pitkin - which services Aspen - wanted to observe the children but they were in Los Angeles. After some squabbling over whether the kids should come back to Aspen, Pitkin officials contacted DCFS in Los Angeles and asked them to pay a visit.

"Sunday's visit was not an emergency - we're told it's just when DCFS was able to get out and see the kids. We're also told the DCFS will take over the case because the kids are now living in Los Angeles."

Meanwhile, real estate investor Brooke has left rehab over an alleged breach of privacy.

The beauty - who had been staying at The Canyon rehabilitation centre in Malibu for substance abuse - has quit her stay at the clinic after a staff member allegedly tried to passed confidential patient admissions documents onto the media.

TMZ explained: "The document is very specific about the circumstances surrounding Brooke's admission.

"We're told the facility acknowledges the breach and is conducting an internal investigation."

Brooke is currently living in Los Angeles while she looks for another rehab centre, but it is not known if she is staying with Charlie or not.
