'Friendly' exams introduced to students

Cartoons have been added to exam papers for primary school students in Jiangmen, Guangdong Province, to help create a more comfortable and relaxing testing environment.

For example, a giant panda now sits atop one exam, reminding students to read carefully the questions. A cartoon picture of a magnifying glass suggests that students check their answers twice before handing in their work.

The purpose of adding animation to tests is to help ease tension and make tests more student friendly, officials say. As it is now, some students find exams a frightening experience, the Gangzhou Daily reports.
