Considerate security guards helped ease the fears of 90-year-old woman after she accidentally locked herself on a 13th floor balcony by chatting to her as they sought a way to rescue her, reports Shanghai Youth Daily.

The two security guards rushed to the scene after hearing Zhang's scream of help and contacted her son to get the key.

They then talked with Zhang for more than one hour on the balcony next to her to prevent the elderly woman from doing anything dangerous due to her anxiety.

The woman's son returned one hour later and unlocked the door of balcony.
