Professors buy cars to commute to university

More professors in Guangzhou are buying cars before their offices move to Guangzhou University City in the suburbs, reports Xinhua News Agency.

University staff accounted for as many as 20 per cent of the buyers at major car dealerships in the city during the Chinese Lunar New Year holidays.

Ten universities in Guangzhou will move part of their staff and facilities into the university city, which will be opened in September this year. The city is about half-an-hour's ride away from downtown Guangzhou.
