A woman on a train in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region denied that her 10-year-old son was hers when a train attendant demanded to see the ticket - but the boy offered to pay the fare, reports Maoming Daily.

The boy caught the attention of the attendant when he kept going in and out of the toilet, obviously trying to avoid the ticket check.

When confronted, the mother pretended she did not know him but the boy took out his hongbao, the money he received during the Chinese Lunar New Year holidays, and offered to buy a ticket. His mother finally bought a ticket for him.
