BEIJING

IPv6 equipment provided

Beijing Jiaxun Feihong Network Technology Co Ltd recently announced it had provided IPv6-enabled routers and other equipment to an IPv6 research platform displayed at the Fourth Global IPv6 Summit held in Beijing earlier this month.

That is a testimony of the Chinese high-tech firm's strength in IPv6-related technology.

IPv6, or Internet Protocol version 6, is a major characteristic of next-generation Internet, compared with the IPv4 protocol currently in use.

Jiaxun Feihong's IPv6 equipment enables several domestic universities and major research institutions to enhance research on IPv6 technology, the firm said.

China is aggressively working on the IPv6-based next generation network.

DM4 wins backing

A group comprising government officials and industry experts recently appraised a database management system DM4 FOR NeoShine1.0 (DM4) fully developed by a Chinese domestic company.

The group agreed that DM4 is an advanced database with high security level and intellectual property rights, and expected it to be widely used in all industries.

Designed by Wuhan Hust DM Database Co Ltd, DM4 - apart from military usage - is being used widely in civil fields such as fire protection, tax-collection, e-governmental affairs, finance, land and resources, education and the manufacturing industry.
