The Third Shanghai French Week will take place in the heart of the commercial
district this month.
Sponsored by the French Trade Commission and
Shanghai Luwan District Government, Shanghai French Week is a platform for
Chinese people to understand a different dynamic culture.
A number of
French brands including Citroen, Danone, Elle and L'Oreal will set up stalls on
Yandang Pedestrian Street.
Visitors can discover French fashion, design
and cars as well as taste authentic baguettes, pastry, cheese and wine. All
products will be on sale on the street. During the week, visitors can also
play a typical French game - table-football - and check out Airbus plane models
and a model of the fastest Alstom train.
And if you're thinking of
traveling to France, there will also be a tourism information desk.
The
event is part of the French Culture Year in China, a Sino-French cultural
exchange program that will run from Monday until next July.
France held
its Chinese Culture Year from October last year to July this year.
The
French Culture Year will tour more than 20 cities in China, introducing people
about French literature, arts, education, architecture, technology and tourism.
A series of exhibitions featuring contemporary French art are scheduled in
Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong.
And one for the diary - next
April, a giant French-style barbecue will be held at the Great Wall in Beijing.
