Expected to be finished by December, the expansion will help Shandong Mobile achieve a total capacity of 18 million users for their network by the time of completion.

Nokia last week said it maintained its leading position in two categories in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes, which were published earlier this month.

"Corporate sustainability is being embraced at every level of the organization, from strategic planning and its implementation to monitoring and reporting."

Launched in 1999, the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes are the first global indexes to track the financial performances of leading sustainability-driven companies worldwide.

Samsung to top DV market

Samsung aims to become one of the top two DV vendors, in terms of shipments, in China by year's end, said a senior company official.

DV shipments in China are expected to 700,000 units this year.

Samsung recently unveiled a new digital video (DV) model, the VP-D6050Si, with 5.25-megapixel resolution and double camera lens.

The product is aimed at high-end home users. It is the upgraded model for Samsung's VP-D5000i, one of the best sellers in China's DV market since it was launched last year.

The company has moved its DV production lines from South Korea to Tianjin, a city near Beijing. The firm set up its global manufacturing base in Tianjin.

Beijing-based Arc 9 Computer Inc last week announced plans to launch an industrial computer joint venture in Canada.
