Best foreign stamps announced in Beijing

Three sets of stamps from Britain,Malaysia and Canada were announced here Monday to be the most popular foreign stamps selected by thousands of stamp fans in China and abroad.

The candidate stamps were all issued in 2002 in 35 countries and regions, and the organizing committee received 3,071 valid votes, said Wang Yuxian, secretary-general of the Foreign Stamp Lover's Association in China.

In the meantime, three small souvenir sheets from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), Canada and the Republic of Korea turned out to be the best ones among relevant candidates.

Chen Haosu, president of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, awarded prizes to the postal representatives from the above-mentioned countries.
