Traffic accident kills four in Tibet
( 2004-01-06 22:26) (Xinhua)

A truck overturned on an expressway in Xigaze County of Tibet Autonomous Region, killing four people and injuring 11.

The lorry, with 19 people on board, was being driven by a learner driver, when it struck a sand pile on the expressway at 5 p.m. on Jan. 3.

All passengers were residents of nearby Dingri County, who were returning home from work.

Nine of the 11 injured are out of danger.

Local police said the accident was caused by excessive speed, mixed loading of passengers and cargo, and the driver's inexperience.
