Star wars and international movie star, Ewan McGregor, is to receive kidnap avoidance training for a new TV series he's making.

McGregor and actor friend Charlie Boorman are teaming up for Long Way Round, a 20,000 mile motorcycle trek across Europe, Russia, China and the US.

The pair will head off in April for three months with the aim of making 10 one hour shows or 13 half hour programmes for an autumn 2004 airing.

The two friends will travel through Europe, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, China and Russia before heading to Alaska. From there they'll travel across the US and finish in New York.

They will have mechanic's training, medical training and kidnap avoidance training for the trip and TV series.
