Xuanwu lake scenic area is situated near the western foothills of Mt. Zhong, and its eastern side borders with Mt. Zhong, with its western and southern side bordering the city main. Surrounded by mountains, hugged by water, and looped by the city; it's scenery is beautiful, and is made up mostly of the 5 islets scenic area, water scenic area, the circum lake scenic area, and a forest and medical herb garden area.

Five islets scenic area

These are the islets of Liang, Huan, Ying, Leng, and Cui, which are located in Xuanhu lake. The natural scenes of these islets are unique in style: Huan islet's lotus flowers are like the dawning sun, Ying islet's sea of flowers are like a sun-drenched cloud in the evening sky, Leng islet seems to have emerald-green jade and golden-metallic flowers floating on it's waves, Liang islet's many flowers embroider it with color. The pavilions, platforms, vistas, and building scattered around on these islets along with the historic and cultural relics, and the surrounding mountains, water, city, and forest scenes combine into a brilliant environment.

Water scenic area

Xuanhu lakes water scenic area is blessed with such places as lotus flower port allowing people to appreciate lotus and lotus flowers, as well as opportunities for visitors to take to the water via water train, fast traffic boats, touring boats, or foot pedal boats.

Medical herb forest park area

Situated on the north-eastern side of Xuanwu lake, and on the eastern side of dragon coiling road. Its water-way connected to Xuanwu lake, and its land-way connected to Huanhu road, its area within Xuanhu lake park with a rather large specialized park that uses plant life to create scenery.
The park uses medical plant as it primary decorative material. The characteristic of this scenery is that it makes use of local wild medical herb resources, as well as layer structure to complement trees and topography to create beautiful scenery, also placing importance on using the lake, mountains, and culture to highlight the style of the park as well as the characteristics of its locale and the tradition of its culture.
