( 2003-11-13 17:08) (Xinhua)

The Arts Criticism monthly will start publication next January and will be distributed home and overseas, sources with the Ministry of Culture said here Thursday.

The monthly, sponsored by the China Arts Research Institute, will cover a wide range of subjects including fine arts, drama, music, dance, films, television, architecture, sculpture, calligraphy and local operas.

Zhang Qingshan, deputy director of the institute, said the first issue of the magazine will include an analysis of the market of Chinese musicals, and a leading dancer's review of the profession.

He said the first issue will also include reviews on Chinese cities' construction and popular literary works.
