Several such interviews make up a themed section of the film, which is separated from the next by breathtaking aerial shots of landscapes and mass human activities.

Without an off-screen voice asking questions, the sequences easily hold audience attention with their content.

The interviews cover a wide range of topics-religion, war, death, immigration, homosexuality and love, among others-says the director.

Commenting on the film, Anastasia Mikova, head of the interview shoots, says in the movie's introduction pamphlet: "After the interviews that went well, the people involved would often thank me, saying that I was the first person to listen to them, or that it was the first time they had said what they had said."
