Taiwan's Eslite bookstore opens first branch in mainland

The bookstore is a complex which also includes a cooking studio, a visual lab, a tea house and a lecture room.

Eslite - ancient French for elite - is one of the largest retail bookstore chains in Taiwan, with a focus on art and humanities publications. Established in Taipei in 1989, it has 43 branches in Taiwan. The open-all-hours bookstore is a popular destination in Taiwan for mainland travelers.
