Mysterious village of the Blang ethnic group

The village of Wengji, located in an ancient tea garden in the Lancang Lahu autonomous county of Pu'er city in Yunnan province, is a place where the Blang ethnic group lives and thrives to this day. The village has a long history and beautiful natural scenery that is home to a very specific ethnic culture. The buildings here are usually two stories – the first floor is used to raise cattle or to store food,, while people live on the second floor. Research on traditional villages was conducted in April 2012 and 1,561 villages with abundant traditional cultural resources and historic, scientific, social, artistic and economic value were listed as Chinese traditional villages, including Wengji village.[Photo/Xinhua]
