China's diplomacy will continue to serve domestic development and the foreign ministry will hold promotional events for provinces, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said Wednesday at a news conference during the two sessions in Beijing.
"China is still a developing country, so China's diplomats are duty-bound to serve domestic development," Wang said.
China has signed a series of agreements with over 30 countries on the cooperation of production capacity to facilitate industrial transformation and upgrading at home, he told reporters.
"The foreign ministry has launched promotional events for Chinese provinces over the past year and the events helped the regions discuss cooperation with their foreign partners without going abroad," he said.
The event showcased the province's resources in terms of tourism, the economy and the environment.
"China's diplomatic missions around the world send back home information everyday to serve as a bridge for business cooperation between China and the world," the minister said.
Since the G20 summit last year, Zhejiang province and the city of Hangzhou have taken on a new look and made new progress in social and economic development, he said.
