Joseph Muscat, leader of the Labour Party of Malta, said China's development had contributed greatly to the maintenance of peace and stability, to the global economy, and to the enrichment of humanity in terms of cultural development and advances in science and technology.

The Labour Party of Malta "has always placed great emphasis on our relationship and has worked to strengthen the bonds between our two parties and our two countries," he said.

"We believe that such relations will continue to translate into deeper political, economic and cultural ties between our two countries and will also foster a broader range of meaningful exchanges at people-to-people level."

Peter Goodfellow, president of the National Party of New Zealand, said the CPC congress is an important political event not only to China but also to the international community.

"Today, our relationship with China has become one of New Zealand's most valuable and important bilateral relationships," he said.

The National Party is committed to strengthening friendly relations with the CPC and enhancing cooperation between the two governments and two peoples on the basis of mutual benefit, Goodfellow added.

Julie Bishop, deputy leader of the Liberal Party of Australia, said peaceful development within China has seen hundreds of millions of people lifted out of poverty in a remarkable achievement unparalleled in human history.

"The Liberal Party of Australia has sought to maintain warm and constructive relations with China's leaders and its people," Bishop said.

The African National Congress (ANC) of South Africa said in a message that the global financial crisis with its concomitant problems calls for the strengthening of relations as fraternal parties and governments.

"We value this relationship and hope it will grow from strength to strength," the message said.

"The ANC and the government of South Africa cherish the consolidation of this relationship. This is one way to guarantee a better life for our people and a peaceful and prosperous Africa," it added.

Blade Nzimande, general-secretary of the South African Communist Party (SACP), said the SACP and the CPC, which share the same month and year of foundation, and a common, long and historic fraternal relationship, are poised to make contributions toward a sustainable trajectory of development and take forward the development aspirations of the two peoples.

"It is for this and many other reasons that the SACP is confident that the 18th National Congress shall emerge with important resolutions and a new leadership and program of the party capable of taking China's historic development to even high levels," he said.

Didymus Noel Edwin Mutasa, secretary for administration of Zimbabwe African National Union (Patriotic Front), said the party was happy to note the laudable economic successes of China under the CPC's able leadership.

"Today, China is a marvel of the world especially in building a united and harmonious society. We believe that a successful China will contribute to a peaceful and better world," he said.

Abdelwahed Radi, first secretary of the Socialist Union of Popular Forces of Morocco, said the CPC congress is an important milestone in the course of the Chinese people's long march, which will bring a new prospect of development and prosperity for China.

China will make great contributions to coping with such challenges as economic and financial crisis, sustainable development, peace and stability faced by the world people, he said.

The Independence Party of Morocco said the CPC congress will benefit the Chinese people and make contributions to China's prosperity and development, the CPC's new progress, and continuously push forward the Chinese civilization.

Mustapha Ben Jaafar, general secretary of Forum Democratique pour le Travail et la Liberte of Tunisia, said that under the leadership of the CPC, China is playing an important role in international affairs.

"We hope the CPC leadership will continue to make efforts to play a bigger role in world peace and stability," he said.

The African Party for the Independence of Guinea and Cape Verde said in a message that the party and the country's leaders pay high attention to the CPC congress.

It believes that the outcomes of the congress will have an influence on social development and unity among people of all nationalities.

The Union for the Republic of Mauritania said the party hopes that the CPC congress will make right decisions so as to overcome challenges faced by the Chinese people and the whole mankind.

The Central Committee of the People's Front for Democracy and Justice of Eritrea said that under the leadership of the CPC the Chinese people have really "stood up" and China has made massive and breathtaking progress in record time.

"This has led not only to a sustained improvement in the livelihood of the Chinese people but has also contributed to economic development globally and in particular in the developing countries," it said.
