HANGZHOU - The search for a missing boat with 11 fishermen on board off China's eastern coast continued Tuesday, some 60 hours after contact was lost, maritime authorities said Tuesday.
Two helicopters, two search boats, and a number of fishing boats are seaching for the missing vessel.
The boat, registered in the port city of Wenling, lost contact with its company, Wenling Shitang Fishing Co, Ltd, at about 2 am Sunday, at 122 degrees east longitude and 28 degrees north latitude, according to a local boat monitoring system. The 34-meter-long boat set sail at 10:09 pm Saturday from Shitang Port.
Rescuers said they have found 200 plastic fishing containers floating in the sea near where the boat was last contacted but it has not yet been determined whether these belong to the missing boat.
