Fishing boat with 11 on board missing in E China

HANGZHOU - Maritime authorities in East China's Zhejiang province are searching for 11 fishermen on a boat reported missing early Sunday morning.

The boat, registered in the port city of Wenling, lost contact with its company, Wenling Shitang Fishing Co, at about 2 am Sunday, a managing director with the company who only gave his surname as Xie said Monday.

The 34-meter-long boat set sail at 10:09 pm Saturday from Shitang Port, Xie said.

The boat was last located at 122 degrees east longitude and 28 degrees north latitude, according to a local boat monitoring system.
