The drugs were found in an abandoned SUV beside a road in Yuxi on December 4, 2010, a spokesman with the Kunming Public Security Bureau said Wednesday.

Two people who abandoned the car to evade capture were detained on December 5, the spokesman said.

The two men, 41-year-old Wu Huipeng and 46-year-old Lu Huaxiong, confessed that a drug dealer from central China's Hunan Province hired them, and that they were in the midst of transporting the drugs from Myanmar to Hunan with the help of two other traffickers in Yunnan before the bust, the spokesman said.

Police are now hunting the other suspects involved in the case, he added.
