SOFIA - An exhibition of Chinese printmaking works opened in Bulgarian capital Sofia Monday.
The 15-day exhibition, housed in the Ministry of Culture's "Sredetz Gallery," consists of 30 paintings created in the International Artists Village at the Guanlan Original Printmaking Base in Shenzhen city of South China's Guangdong province.
Dimiter Dereliev, Bulgarian Deputy Minister of Culture, told the opening ceremony that the audience will meet this exhibition with strong interest because familiarization with the Chinese culture is an unforgettable experience.
Zhang Zhonghua, cultural counselor at the Chinese embassy in Sofia, said that culture has always been an integral part of bilateral relations since Bulgaria and China established diplomatic ties 61 years ago.
The initiator of this exhibition, Bulgarian artist Veliko Marinchevski, had the opportunity to paint in the Guanlan International Artists Village for several months last year. He told Xinhua that he was very impressed by the excellent facilities provided to arts at the village.
