Beijing - No further deal between Beijing and Islamabad will be signed on nuclear reactors during the Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari’s visit to China, said a Pakistani official in Beijing on Monday.

"China and Pakistan have several cooperation projects in the field of civil nuclear energy in the past and the cooperation will continue in the future. But I’m not anticipating any agreement to be signed during the president's visit this time," said Masood Khan, Pakistan's ambassador to China.

The ambassador reiterated that the Chashma project for nuclear reactors in Punjab is for peaceful purposes, and under the International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) safeguard. "The Chashma project has been there for decades and will continue," Khan added.
