After two years, Wenchuan is marking the second anniversary of the devastating 2008 earthquake in Southwest China's Sichuan province.

The massive quake claimed nearly 70,000 lives. More than 12,000 were from Yingxiu, the epicenter of the earthquake, a town with a population of 18,000.

The reconstruction work is expected to be completed by the end of September this year. Another severe 7.1-magnitude earthquake hit Yushu of Qinghai province on April 14, causing more than 1,000 dead.
