The doctor with the No.3 People's Hospital in Jiande City said that all of the eight people had been already dead when they were sent to hospital, with their mouths full of mud and sand.

The landslide buried part of a factory at 2:30 p.m. in Daciyan Town, Jiande City, trapping six men and two women workers, said Yan Weihua, of the publicity department of Jiande Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China.

The workers were employed by Jinkai Chemical Fiber Co., Ltd., which was located at the foot of a hill.
