8 punished for industrial oxygen at hospital

Eight people have been punished in Chenzhou of Central China's Hunan province for using industrial oxygen in medical treatment in the Chenzhou Children's Hospital, the chinanews.com.cn reported Monday.
Li Xilian, secretary of party branch in the hospital who was directly responsible for the incident, was expelled from the Communist Party; and seven other people received inner-party warnings or administrative removal from office.
Li allegedly used her power in the hospital to buy industrial oxygen without any contract from a gas company where her husband acted as the legal representative. Her husband is now under investigation.
