Death toll rises to 6 in workshop collapse

NANJING - Six workers died, one was injured and one is still buried after a workshop collapsed Friday in east China's Nantong City, rescuers said.

The accident happened at 5:50 a.m. in the Gangzha District of Nantong at a heavy-machinery workshop of a subsidiary of China International Marine Containers (Group) Ltd.

The injured worker is in a stable condition in hospital.

The rescue operations are continuing as an investigation into the cause of the accident gets underway.
