14 aircrafts to bring rain to SW China

The Air Force in Chengdu are braced for a large-scale artificial precipitation in provinces of Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan and Chongqing municipality in an effort to remit the severe drought that has caused enormous loss in those areas during the past few months, xinhuanet reported Tuesday.
A total of 14 aircrafts will use 11 airports for the precipitation enhancement, the officials of the Air Force said during a meeting held in Chengdu on Tuesday morning to discuss details of the drought-relief measures.
Local authorities of Yunnan have fired over 100 cloud-seeding bombs last Sunday, bringing rainfalls ranging from 1mm to 32.9mm to nine cities and prefectures in the province.
