KUNMING - Artificial rainfall moistened part of Yunnan Province Saturday amid a severe drought spreading in southwest China, the local meteorological authority said.

Nine cities and prefectures, including Kunming, Chuxiong and Dali, received 1 mm to 4 mm of precipitation induced by could seeding between 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, according to the provincial meteorological bureau.
