In Anshun, Guizhou province, the Huangguoshu Waterfall - also known as Yellow Fruit Waterfall, the largest waterfall in China and in all of Asia - is facing the worst water scarcity in its history as the city is hit by a severe drought.

The drought also affected water flow into the Three Gorges reservoir on the Yangtze River, the country's largest.

Water level in the reservoir had fallen by 16 meters to 155.6 meters high by Tuesday morning. This occurred 50 days earlier compared with last year.
