Civil servants in Chongqing municipality will be required to serve in their posts for at least five years before quitting, according to a new municipal regulation, cited by Chongqing Evening Post today.
The regulation states that civil servants with important missions or engaged in confidential jobs will not be allowed to leave within five years. The rule also applies to any public servant being questioned by the police.
High-level civil servants who have resigned are forbidden from doing business related to their former jobs for three years, the report said.
