Officials who break the law will find it difficult to flee abroad under a new cooperation mechanism jointly set up by several government bodies, the Oriental Morning Post reported today.
Fifteen national agencies, including the Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, built an inter-ministerial commissions and coordinating mechanism, Li Yufu, deputy secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Central Committee of the CPC, said at a recent news briefing.
In the past 30 years, about 4,000 corrupt officials fled to points abroad from China, taking more than $50 billion with them, Li said.
