Russia to put more than 1.5b rubles in Expo 2010

A senior Russian official told a RIA Novosti press conference on Thursday that Russia has a total budget of Expo 2010 exceeding 1.5 billion rubles (US$51.72 million).

Russia will build its pavilion in Expo 2010 and the country has allocated 1.1 billion rubles of federal budget to guarantee its exhibition in Expo 2010, the official under Russia's Industrial and Trade Ministry said at the conference.

Russia will not only build its pavilion but also host a series of commercial, scientific and cultural activities in Expo 2010, the report said.

Russia has not participated in exhibitions of such a large scale for quite a long time and it has put a lot of efforts in pavilion construction and exhibition hall decorations, the official added.
