Cultural traditions and urban development were themes explored at an Expo forum on November 16 in Zhengzhou, provincial capital of Henan.

Experts shared their ideas on protecting the city's cultural traditions and developing new urban areas in Zhengzhou, the drive and space for the city's sustainable development, the future function and positioning of the city's new urban area, showcasing and promoting the new urban area and possible plans for Zhengzhou and the province's Kaifeng city's joint development.
Li Ke, Henan Province's executive vice governor, delivered a speech on the theme of the province's exhibition in Expo 2010 "China's center, origin of cities."
Zhou Hanmin, deputy director of the World Expo 2010 Shanghai Executive Committee, outlined the latest updates for the world fair and shared insights gleaned from previous Expos.
Expo 2010 faces three historic turning points: the recovery of the global economy, the rapid development of urbanization and a fresh wave of technology revolution, Zhou added.
Views shared during the forum also included Zhuhai's plans for building an ecological in southern Guangdong Province, IBM's views on how to build a smart city, how to develop a low-carbon city by Siemens, and how to build innovation by Shanshan Holdings, a Chinese garment manufacturer.
Zhengzhou was the 17th city to hold an Expo forum.
