Rosario and the organizer signed a UBPA participation contract in Shanghai today. Roberto Miguel Lifschitz, mayor of Rosario, and Zhou Hanmin, deputy director of the Shanghai 2010 World Expo Executive Committee delivered speeches at the signing ceremony.

The project targets a riverbank area stretching 17 kilometers along Parana and integrates tourism, leisure, cultural and catering functions.

The Parana River development showcases the city's transformation over a decade and its urban planning and management expertise. The project was implemented gradually, with the city's industrial heart and shipping base moved from Parana River's north shore to the south.

The display will fall into the third category of UBPA showcase, which are shorter than the UBPA's pavilions and built exhibitions and will mainly use forums, activities and performances to showcase cities' ideas.

Rosario will use lectures, reports, seminars, videos and exhibits to display its innovation and practices in urban development.
