Domestic and international experts and officials gathered June 16, 2009 in Harbin, northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, to discuss "Resources and urban harmonious development" at an Expo forum.
Among the participants were Robert Wihtol, country director for China of the Asian Development Bank, Wu Xiaolei, associate dean of Peking University's college of engineering and Liu Zhiyan, a research fellow in city and environment with the Chinese Academy of Social Science. They discussed the interconnection between resouces and urban development.
Representatives from Yichun and Qitaihe, two cities in Heilongjiang, talked of their experiences and practice in coal and forestry resources protection.
The forum was the third of its kind following two in Changsha, Hunan Province and Lanzhou, Gansu Province.
The forum was part of a week-long promotional drive in Heilongjiang.
