Woman who duped chat friend with fake photo held

Police in Beijing detained a woman who allegedly duped an "online chat buddy" of some 17,000 yuan ($2,490) so that she could buy a gift for another chat friend.
Police launched an investigation after receiving a complaint from Wang, who said he wired the amount to a girl whom he met online and never heard from her again.
Police arrested the woman, who had sent Wang a fake picture of her, last week. She said she didn't steal the money from Wang, but only accepted what he gave her, and used it to buy a gift for another man she met online.
