Wanted man arrested from 3,000 m below ground

Police in Neihuang county, Henan province, arrested a suspect, wanted for more than two years, from a coalmine more than 3,000 meters underground on Monday night.
Following a tip-off that Zhu, wanted for several crimes, including robbery, was in the county and working in the mine, police sent a team of officers all the way down to the mine to nab the suspect.
"We were afraid he might try and escape by taking hostages if we waited for him outside. That's why we went all the way down," police said.
