Life in jail for man who stabbed lover 117 times

A 24-year-old man was sentenced to life in prison for stabbing his girlfriend 117 times till she died at her home in Shenyang, Liaoning province.

A court said last week the only reason it was not sending Zhang Jiacheng to the gallows because he had agreed to compensate the family of the deceased.

Zhang brutally murdered the victim after she decided to break up with him in April this year.
