A total of 22 people, including the driver, were aboard the bus when it veered off a cross-sea bridge at 2:15 pm in Weihai City, an accident investigation team official said.

The driver did not keep a safe speed on the rainy day and caused the car to sideslip, he said.

The 22 people included 19 staff members of the Guangzhou Industry and Trade Group, two tourist guides and the driver. The nine survivors were being treated in hospitals, he said.
