7 dead, 7 injured in Shanghai vehicle collision

SHANGHAI: Seven people were killed and another seven injured Monday after a truck-bus collision on a highway in Shanghai City, local authorities said.

A truck heading for Jinshan District crashed into the freeway divider, hit a mini-bus and caused rear-end crash at about 3:50 pm on a highway linking Xinzhuang Township, Fengxian District and Jinshan District, police said, without giving further details.

It rained when the accident occurred.

The public security and emergency officials were investigating the cause of the accident.
