Man returns to estranged wife to skip devaluation fee
(China Daily)
Updated: 2009-11-04 09:28 A man in Luohe, Henan province, agreed to patch up with his estranged wife after realizing the court was going to rule in favor of his wife, who had demanded 1 million yuan as "devaluation compensation", during their divorce hearing last week. Guo, who has been married to Li for 10 years, filed for divorce after falling for another woman early this year. After the court ruled that all the property and wealth will be distributed equally between the couple, Li demanded the whopping "devaluation fee". Li told the court she had dedicated her entire life to her marriage with Guo, and had done everything possible to care for her husband and their son, while her husband was enjoying his rendezvous with other women. Seeing his wife gain the court's sympathy, Guo immediately agreed to leave his mistress and return to his wife. (Dongfang Jinbao News) |
