Former party official investigated on discipline violations

SHENZHEN: Yu Weiliang, a former Party chief in South China's Guangdong province, was being investigated in suspicion of violating disciplines, according to the local Party authority.

Yu, 49, former secretary of the Longgang District Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in the booming city of Shenzhen, had been removed from his Party posts, the Organization Department of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee said Saturday.

The department did not elaborate what disciplines Yu had violated.

Yu was a native of Guangdong who joined CPC in 1980. He had served many government and Party posts in Shenzhen since 2003.
