Truck-tricycle crash kills five in east China

NINGBO, Zhejiang: Five people died when a pick-up truck collided with a motor-tricycle early Thursday in east China's Zhejiang Province, local government sources said.

The accident happened at about 3:07 am at a section of the Ningbo-Xiangshan Highway when the truck hit the tricycle, which was parked in the slow lane.

The tricycle driver and four passengers, who were changing a tyre, died at the scene, a Ningbo municipal traffic police official said.

The truck driver was detained by police. The cause of the accident is being investigated.
