Eatery sued for giving discounts to academics

A lawyer in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province, has filed a lawsuit against a restaurant that gives discounts to students and teachers.

Guo Gang said he went to the restaurant, situated next to the Sichuan University, for lunch and was told he could enjoy a 8.8-percent discount if he was a student or a teacher at the university.

The court will hear the case, arguably the first of its kind in the country, soon.
