HK report 28th death of A(H1N1) flu

HONG KONG: A 52-year-old man who tested positive for the A(H1N1) influenza died Sunday in Hong Kong, bringing the death toll of the disease in the city to 28, Hong Kong's Hospital Authority announced Monday.

The man, who was diagnosed with diabetes mellitus and hypertension, developed flu symptoms on September 25 and attended the Accident and Emergency Department of Kwong Wah Hospital on September 29. The patient was admitted for clinical treatment.

Positive result of HSI was confirmed on the same day and he was prescribed with Tamiflu and antibiotics.

The condition of the patient deteriorated on September 30 and he died Sunday.

The case has been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office and the Centre for Health Protection.
