Harman opens Greater China HQ

Audio entertainment equipment maker Harman International launched its latest generation automotive infotainment system Tuesday in Shanghai. The company also announced Tuesday the official opening of its Greater China headquarter in Shanghai, and will launch a research and development (R&D) center, the fifth of its kind, a move signaling its enhanced investment pace in China.

Dinesh Paliwal, group CEO of Harman International, said he hoped the company's China revenue annually will skyrocket to $1 billion within the next five years, accounting for around 20-25 percent of its global sales from the current 5 percent.
