Killer-turned-monk held 12 years after crime

Police officers from Suqian, Jiangsu province, traced a fugitive suspected of killing a man 12 years ago to a Buddhist monastery in Lianghe, Yunnan province, recently.

Zhu, who is accused of hacking his friend to death after a quarrel in 1997, had become a monk after fleeing Suqian, his hometown.

Police followed Zhu's mother, as she went to visit her son at the monastery in Lianghe.
